Over the past 15 years, I've had the privilege of living and working extensively across the globe in my capacity as a documentary and commercial film director. Between filming, I occasionally work as a communications specialist in humanitarian aid, taking on assignments for the Finnish Red Cross in Sub-Saharan Africa.
I've collaborated with numerous Fortune 500 companies and top ad agencies in creating impactful and compelling short form content for B2C brand campaigns as well as B2B marketing. On the other side of creative work, I've been crafting long-form narratives as a screenwriter and director for and with Finland’s biggest broadcasting companies, including YLE, Elisa Viihde, Nelonen, and SubTV.
Before embarking on my current freelancing career, I founded Balansia Films, a commercial film production company, in 2011. Over the subsequent seven years, serving as CEO and Creative Director, I gained invaluable insights in team building, business management, advertising, analytics, and communication strategies. Eventually, I felt the need to pursue my ambitions in the long form storytelling as a film director and producer independently, leading to an friendly departure at the time when the company evolved into a in-house production company for our biggest client, Supercell.
Visual storytelling and the ability to grasp the essentials from vast amounts of information are areas where I excel, allowing me to create narratives that engage and inspire. I still love what I do, whether it’s a story told with only one still image or thousands in a sequence. Learning newer stops and I’m always looking for new challenges in the creative field.
